What an eventful weekend this has been. Jill and I went home to surprise Melanie at work because Jill wanted to get out of Rexburg and Melanie was bored in Rupert. First, we went to her house and asked her dad where she was working. We arrived at the site which smelled strongly of sugar beets and mud. The workers were wearing bright orange jackets. We finally found Melanie and she was very surprised to see us. We were reunited and it felt so good. However, driving out of the beet factory, my car got stuck in the mud. I thought David and Melanie pushing me out would do the trick, but I was on the edge of a ditch and with their push, I slid even further into the muddiness until my car was sideways. (no damage to the car don't fret) I thought I would be fine until I realized I had to call my Dad. He didn't even know I was coming home and here I was in Paul stuck in a ditch. I reluctantly called and boy, was he surprised. I felt awful about the whole situation and had an emotional breakdown but it all got worked out. As the loader pulled me out Jill tried to reassure me by saying, "Hey it could be worse at least you don't know anyone here." Approximately 1 minute later, my dad tells me brother Austin from the ward had just driven past. Great. Although it was a messy situation, I learned from it that it is probably best not to drive through the mud even for a noble cause. Sunday dinner was fabulous and I got to see Andy so it was a great trip. I am grateful for good friends and family who help me at times when I am stuck in the mud.
We had a nerds vs. jocks dance party--it was hoppin!
I was just reminiscing about how fun and awesome my high school guy friends Johnny, Brigham, and Tyson are. They are solid missionaries. I love this picture.
We had a pumkin carving competition for FHE and me and my friend Kendall's won!
FHE group!
I love these two~! Alex and Skyler are really good at guitar and help Jill and I improve our skills. They are seriously so talented and fun to be around. Jill and I are playing a song on the guitar for a Writing Center Seminar tomorrow. Our band is called JillKat.
Also I am going to Hawaii in the winter!! BYU's nursing program told me I didn't have the prerequisites to get into their nursing program when before I even started the application they said I met all of them so that was bad communication. My next options are Boise State, ISU, and CSI's waiting list.
