The Youth Temple Celebration was this weekend, and it was the experience of a lifetime! It was so fun because right as the prophet walked in, the lyrical dancers were the first people he saw. He called us beautiful! He spoke about getting a good education and the importance of liking what you do as a career. He said, "Decisions Determine Destiny" and we repeated it back to him. He emphasized the importance of temple marriage and obeying your parents. On his way to the grand stands, he drove past us again and his daughter said, "Wow, I like your makeup," and he said, "I like you!" We lined up for our dance and I happened to look up at the big screen, and my mom was standing right next to President Monson with her arm around him! He told her to "not tell Francis". The show went really smooth. Everything just seemed to fall into place. After the program was over we sang and the prophet stood up and looked at all of us. It was a really special moment. I want to always remember that moment of seeing a prophet of God. I want to remember through the hard times that a prophet of God called me beautiful and that he prays for the youth of the church.
As the prophet exited, he told my Grandpa Woody that he likes his straw hat that he always wears! Grandpa will remember that for a long time! It was such a good experience and I think it will be a while until all of us youth will be able to wipe the smiles off our faces, but school is starting tomorrow, so that won't be too hard! What a good way to start off the school year though! These pictures don't do the program justice because it was so amazing!
